Impresa Express Usage Guidelines v1.1V

This guide explains the various methods and requirements in order for you to be able to distribute Impresa Express or create your own roleplaying game or compatible product with it. This is a simplification of the Open Collaboration License in order to give you a basic rundown of what is needed for distribution. This document is no substitution for the License—it is merely a companion for it.

Impresa Express as Core Rules
You may distribute Impresa Express, provided that it is distributed in its entirety including the Usage Guidelines and the companion text file, and that you charge no fee, whether distributed in print or electronically. This refers to the zipped downloadable version and NOT this document or Vanilla version of Impresa Express.

Impresa Express Derivative
You may distribute your own games based upon the Impresa Express rules—this is considered Derivative Material. You must contact info@pigames.net in order to arrange a convenient method of delivery of one copy of your game to Politically Incorrect Games.

The companion text file includes everything which can be used in your own game. You can change its format and size, but may not alter its content except in the following cases:
•  the term director may be replaced with gamemaster in your game (make sure it is changed in every instance)
•  there is no special ability section in the companion text file; you can include your desired special abilities with the regular abilities or customize a special abilities section in your game
•  you may omit any skills which are not required for your game or you may add new ones as needed; this includes skills based on special abilities
you may replace engineering, natural sciences, and social sciences with a separate skill for each subject instead of one general skill
•  you may omit any gimmicks which are not required for your game, add new ones as needed, or leave them out entirely
•  you may use the character creation rules as-is or create your own method for creating characters; bear in mind that using special abilities may require additional ability or skill points
•  you may omit any weapons which are not required for your game or you may add new ones as needed
•  you may omit any armor components which are not required for your game or you may add new ones as needed

You must also include the following in your game:
•  most recent version of the Impresa Express Open Collaborative License
•  Impresa Express Copyright Notice on the first page or copyright section

Impresa Express Compatible
You may distribute supplements or add-on products for the core rules or your game which incorporates the Impresa Express rules—this is considered Compatible Material. You may use the terms Impresa Express Compatible or Impresa Express Ready if the product makes use of Impresa Express rules (such as new weapons or character templates), but does not actually include them in the product. You may use terminology specific to Impresa Express, however, in order to retain continuity. You must contact info@pigames.net in order to arrange a convenient method of delivery of one copy of your game to Politically Incorrect Games.

You must also include the following in your game:
•  most recent version of the Impresa Express Open Collaborative License
•  Impresa Express Compatibility Notice on the first page or copyright section

Collaborative Material
All changes to or additions of the following is considered Collaborative Material:
•  special abilities
•  skills
•  gimmicks
•  names and values of weapons, but not descriptions
•  names and values of armor components, but not descriptions

By adding Collaborative Material to your game, you agree to allow any third party to distribute it in their Derivative or Compatible Material under the terms of the Impresa Express Open Collaborative License.
