Go back to a time when roleplaying was a do-it-yourself venture. What if you pieced together ideas from various board games, movies, toys, and cartoons? What if all of these combined elements were your concept of fantasy roleplaying? What if there were very few official materials to use, so you created mostly your own adventures, cultures, and monsters? What if a lot of the fun was creating your own game board on which to play, and then adding miniatures or toy figures?
This is what Lair of Sword & Sorcery is. One person's attempt at designing a game to bring back the wonder and excitement of that very first roleplaying experience. It is not a retroclone, but the rules are easy to learn.
A big part of the game is played out on the demonboard, not just in your head. No matter what your skill, you can create something that evokes your setting. It can be as simple as a piece of bristol board with a grid on it, or something elaborate. Step by step instructions are available to make these fabulous things. Once you get started, you'll be amazed just how easy it is. Simply start off with just a grid on a sheet so that you can play right away and then improve it over time.
Metal, Steel, Gold, and Iron meets Mystery, Doom, and High Adventure.
