Hunger: Zombies Must Feed is fully compatible with the Coyote Trail and HardNova II game settings. What follows are a few story seeds designed specifically for those settings. Zombie Trail Hanged! (dramatic)
A vigilante posse hanged your pack for a murder you didn’t commit. Now, freshly risen and hungry for brains, you find yourself drawn to the small, dusty town of Green Fiddlers to exact revenge. Will you stop once your killers are dead, or will you make the whole town pay for what they’ve done? Burial Ground Z (heroic)
White prospectors have defiled an ancient Indian burial ground causing the dead to rise. The pack can be made up of either long-dead Indians or prospectors killed in the initial onslaught. Humans, both Indian and white, are retreating to a small frontier fort for protection. Stragglers and rescue patrols may be encountered along the way, but once at the fort, the zombies are in for a stiff fight. The Z Campaign (epic)
The dead have risen from their graves (rumors say it had something to do with either a hanging or an ancient Indian burial ground). A horde of zombies has spread out across the frontier, devouring every living thing in its path. The brave young General Cluster has been assigned several columns of stalwart U.S. Army soldiers to contain the outbreak. Many of these men have lost friends and relatives to the zombie plague. Will their guns and tactics be enough to stop the advancing horde? ZombieNova II Mining Colony Z (dramatic)
This small mining colony is located on a large, mineral rich asteroid. One day, two workers broke into the burial chamber of an unknown alien creature. The men became sick soon after and died, only to rise again as one of the living dead. Many of the colonists (including the player characters) were killed and reanimated before the others realized what was happening. The survivors are holed up in different parts of the asteroid station, awaiting a rescue that just might spread the zombie plague to other parts of the galaxy. Planet Z (heroic)
The beautiful Planet Z was a veritable paradise with its azure seas, sandy beaches, and beautiful triple sunsets. The Karner-Janz Company spent billions of credits building a luxurious coastal resort. Construction was marred by the deaths of dozens of workers—for some unexplained reason an employee would suddenly drop what he was doing and walk into the sea to be swept away by the ocean tides. Despite these setbacks, Karner-Janz opened the resort on schedule and wealthy guests began arriving by shuttle. Soon after, the drowned workers returned to the resort in the form of a small horde of zombies that shambled out of the ocean and began devouring the clients. The survivors have taken refuge in various parts of the resort and are awaiting evacuation, but the company is taking no chances—a paramilitary strike team has been called in to hunt down and eliminate the zombies so damages can be assessed and the resort reopened. Z Battalion (epic)
A covert branch of the USU has stumbled upon a neurotoxin that animates dead tissue. A remote planet in the Quiet Frontier has become the staging ground for zombie super-soldier experiments. Zombies are put through a series of grueling trials designed to test their ability to learn, follow orders, and adapt to hostile situations. The zombie teams must overcome a variety of dangerous obstacles and hazards on their way to completing the preset missions. Fresh animal glut is rewarded to those who succeed. The experiment is working too well. The zombies are getting smarter every day, and it’s only a matter of time before an undead pack leader emerges, takes control of the horde, and begins hunting down their captors.
