THE KNIGHTS OF THE RING ARGENT

Knights of the Ring Argent are Knights Errant who uphold the ideals of Justice and Adventure. Members of the Order are men and women of an exploratory and audacious bent, who prefer lives of adventure and wandering to courtly matters. Few hold lands until they are too old to roam; the demands of lordship interfere too much with their wandering ways. As such, they need not have the lord background.

These Knights travel the lands in search of excitement, looking to dispense justice where it’s needed. They have limited authority granted by the King; although they hold a Noble charter, they swear an oath to the Order more so than to His Majesty. They remain answerable to the King, and are sometimes called upon for service, but have traditionally been autonomous in exchange for their indirect service as traveling problem-solvers.

Every Autumn, the Order has a meeting called The Council Adventurous. Here they convene to feast and trade tales of their deeds. Friendly competitions are held, and some gifts are exchanged. The Order is very fraternal—their loyalty to each other is legendary.

As noted before, Knights of the Ring Argent rarely take and hold lands. If they do, it is only when age slows them down long enough to see to the daily tasks of Lordship, and even then, only if they live that long.
