Drow Elves

Unlike their woodland cousins the Drow are of a fairly similar build to that of humankind, shorter and stockier than any other elf. They share the same, distinctive, pointed ears and almond shaped eyes, but their black-blue skin, black or silver-white hair and striking blue or green eyes set them apart.

In common with other elves the Drow have exceptional life expectancies, of between three and four hundred years. As such they tend to take a similar world view as that of their distant cousins, taking the long term view of events and rarely taking anything like a “snap decision.”

Drow traditionally live deep underground in dark caverns forming cities in the darkness. Drow families are extraordinarily close knit and it is not unusual to find three, four or five generations of a family group living together in the same dwelling. Indeed it is a rare and unusual Drow that will consider forsaking family and home to venture beyond the cavern city of its birth.

Drow tend to distance themselves from other races, they are self sufficient and insular by nature. They do however have an understanding of and an admiration for the mountain and cavern dwelling Dwarven races.

CHARACTER CREATION NOTES

Unlike the woodland dwelling elves the Drow have no affinity for Totem magic and may never increase that ability. They do however have a natural talent for Crafting magic and automatically begin the game with 1 level in the CRAFTING ability, but may not take any crafting based skills without having an appropriate vocation. Drow possess the CAVERNFOLK background as well as the DARK AURA and DARK SIGHT gimmicks.
