MasterBook to genreDiversion i
Notes for converting characters from MasterBook and Shatterzone.

The following information should assist in moving characters from MasterBook and Shatterzone to genreDiversion i. Both of these games were originally published by West End Games, but are now trademarks of Precis Intermedia and their contents copyrighted by Precis Intermedia. Unless otherwise noted, Shatterzone specifications are the same as those for MasterBook. Abilities
•  Attributes in MasterBook must be converted to genereDiversion abilities. First determine the abilities to which MasterBook attributes correspond. This is done by consulting the table below. You may need to adjust the awareness rating for animals, since intellect isn’t an exact translation.

•  Next, consult the table below to determine the relevant ratings for each ability.

•  Go back and convert the individual ratings for agility, dexterity, strength, and endurance. If they are different from the averaged fitness rating, add the following gimmicks to compensate (note that gimmicks can vary by game):
•  If converted agility is higher than fitness, add the sure-footed gimmick.
•  If converted agility is less than fitness by two or more, add the clumsy gimmick.
•  If converted dexterity is higher than fitness by two or more, add the dextrous gimmick.
•  If converted dexterity is less than fitness by two or more, add the maladroit gimmick.
•  If converted strength is higher than fitness by two or more, add the musclebound gimmick.
•  If converted strength is less than fitness by two or more, add the weak gimmick.
•  If converted endurance is higher than fitness by two or more, add either the constitution or hardened gimmick.
•  If converted endurance is less than fitness by two or more, add the reduced stamina gimmick.
Skills
•  Skill descriptions can either remain the same or be consolidated into those from the genreDiversion rules. Consult the table below to determine skills ratings.

Gimmicks
•  Most of MasterBook’s advantages and compensations can be converted to genreDiversion’s gimmicks. Others can be applied directly, such as giving the character the appropriate equipment or adding a new skill.
Difficulty Values
•  MasterBook’s difficulty numbers can be converted to genreDiversion i difficulty ratings by referring to the table below. Note that Shatterzone difficulty values are slightly different, but they should convert without much issue.
