What's on my desk?Dec 06, 2008 | 7:44 pm
Work just seems to be piling up on me. Here's what's sitting on my desk right now...

1. The first draft for Gripping Tales of the Impossible #2 -- I still need to look it over.

2. Several, now outdated, stapled chapters of the GD3 Manual. I'll soon have the next to the last chapter to be completed on my desk: Magic.

3. Old Story Engine 3 Playtest documents.

4. Some Ghostories horrors and stuff that I need to edit.

5. A check I need to process from wargamedownloads.com.

And all my reference material...

1. A pile of books, including Ghostories, EarthAD2, Mean Streets, Warcosm, the New World Disorder series, Iron Gauntlets (which is falling apart due to my horrible folding to keep pages flat), IG Companion, two copies of Two-Fisted Tales (I think one is the first printing, which I should really put away), Coyote Trail, Atomik Add-ons, Unbidden, Story Engine Classic, Tombstones n' Tumbleweeds (1E), HN: Sovereign Space, and the Disposable Heroes: Printed HARP prototype.

2. A few Disposable Heroes in bases.

3. Two six-sided dice.

4. My notebook of odd game ideas and experiments.

That doesn't include the projects on my hard drive, of which this is a screenshot of my latest activity:

Cool...

On my desk, I have:

1. My sporran and its contents waiting to be sorted into keep (in sporran) and place elsewhere

2. Character sheets for some PBEM games I'm playing (Labyrinth Lord, Mutant Future, Mongoose Traveller)

3. A bunch of Accounts Payables that need entry into my check register (also on desk) and then to be filed

4. A bunch of Accounts Receivables that need to be billed

5. My sales tax return that needs sending

6. Some lease monies/reciepts that need accounting for and then deposited or billed out as appropriate

7. My vehicle maintenance log

8. The following books: Honey Plants of North America (John H. Lovell), The Great Pendragon Campaign (Greg Stafford), Invasive Procedures (Orson Scott Card), Mutant Chronicles (Matt Forbeck), Deception Point (Dan Brown), Omega Sol (Scott MacKay), Thunderer (Felix Gilman), The Mirror of Worlds[/i] (David Drake), The Complete Fuzzy (H. Beam Piper), The Complete Hammer's Slammers Vol. III (David Drake), Successful Small Scale Farming: An Organic Approach (Karl Schwenke), Soil Science & Management 3rd Edition (Plaster), Black Powder Hunting Secrets (John E. Phillips), Langstroth's The Hive and the Honeybee (L. L. Langstroth), The Divine Proportion: A study in mathematical beauty (H. E. Huntley), Tunnels & Trolls: 30th Anniversary Edition (Ken St. Andre), New World Disorder (revised by Brett M. Bernstein), my local phone book

9. Seven six-sided dice

10. A Mann Lake beekeeper's supply catalog

11. Stapler

12. Calculator

13. Assorted pens & pencils

Wow... It all sounds so busy when listed out like that. :)

Well, I left out the pens, pencils, stapler, Mac remote, checkbook, and all the notepads :) Is this a competition

I will concede that you probably have more active projects on your desk than I. The majority of the books are in the stack "upcoming reading" with a few in the stack "ready for boxing up for storage." Everything else is just clutter and short jobs that can all be done in the space of an afternoon.

All I've got is clutter, but it's an organized clutter ;)
