The Paper & Blade Wars are OverJan 14, 2009 | 2:26 pm
I finally replaced the blade on my paper cutter today with a little help from the manufacturer. It was fairly easy, but two bolts were problematic, as was leveling the blade. Anyway, after some cleaning cuts, it will be ready for use. There is only one outstanding PDFinPrint order thanks to some pre-printed ones I had done a while back. Otherwise, PDFinPrint should be back to normal turnaround times, just in time for the upcoming GD3 release.

I received Appaloosa from Netflix today along with The New Centurions. I've been looking forward to Appaloosa for a while now, not going to the theaters anymore. I tried to get Lovejoy Disc 1 of Season 4 which was just released, but I missed it -- now it's going to be a long wait. Lovejoy is one of my favorite television series. It's great to be able to see them again. Many will recognize the lead, Ian McShane, from Deadwood. Those who remember the short-lived Keen Eddie will recognize his older sidekick played by Dudley Sutton.

Some of us will remember Ian McShane as the bad guy from the 1970s TV Movie "Code Name: Diamond Head", lovingly spoofed in Season 6, Episode 8 of Mystery Science Theater 3000. :D

Some of us also remember him from an episode of Magnum P.I. :)

Well, to kind of connect this blog post to the upcoming GD3E release, let me just say that I always thought Magnum P.I. would make a great Genre Diversion setting or one-shot or mini-campaign. Get four players to run Magnum, Rick, TC, and Higgins, and you've got yourself a game, man. Well, at least if you remember the '80s. And I do remember the '80s.

While I'm at it, Hannibal, Face, Murdoch, and BA would be right at home in an A-Team Genre Diversion game. "I pity the fool who plays d20!"

I gotta get some time to write...
