Snow LeopardAug 31, 2009 | 10:45 pm
I installed OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) over the weekend on my two Macs. It went very smoothly and with little issue. Startup and shutdown are considerably faster. Safari and Mail are supposed to be faster, since they are running at 64-bit, but I can't see a difference. A few applications no longer work, like Espresso (web page editing) and some Applescripts. My ad-blocker for Safari also died, but I found a replacement. I also had to reload a few add-ons, like the MPEG-2 decoder for Quicktime. Adobe apps took some extra time on their first startup, but seem to working fine. All in all, there are some minor things that they improved, so I'm pleased.
