Everyone has been patiently awaiting Warcosm Assault, so here is the fruit of your virtue... it will be available in the next few weeks. However... only half of it will be available at that time. Originally, it was going to be a single product with both add-on rules for Warcosm and a stand-alone game. Some people want one part but not the other, so I am splitting it into two. This will allow you to purchase only the version you want OR get both. So in the end, everyone gets what they want.

The two products will be released separately, allowing me to get the add-on rules to you while the stand-alone game requires further work. The Warcosm Assault: Supplemental Edition is slated for release on May 24 in both PDF and Print formats. It is economically priced at $2.99 for PDF and $6.95 for Print. The stand-alone game will be available as soon as all of its components and rules are finalized.

So what's in the Supplemental Edition? Rules for assault craft, assault/contingent troops, tractor beams, ramming, new defensive systems, sabotaging ships, commandeering ships, and more. Troops get checkboxes just like ships and fighters, only different. The same basic die rolls are made. If you want to add boarding parties to your fleet battles, but don't want to invest the time needed to play out full assaults or use a miniature for each soldier, this is the version for you. On the other hand, if you're interested in controlling individual troopers during the assault, tracking their movements and targets, you'll probably like the stand-alone version. Of course, you don't have to make one monumental decision -- you can always get both and change as needed; either version is fully-compatible with the main Warcosm rules. |
