Sci-Fi ZombiesJun 15, 2010 | 12:54 am
I'm not a big fan of zombie movies, but Pandorum was pretty good. It's not exactly a zombie movie, but it may as well be. It was action-packed and tense. My only complain is that there is excessive whispering, so subtitles would probably be a good idea. I watched it online via Netflix, so I didn't have that luxury. The movie is not too heavy on story, but it's not the sort of movie that should be. Just watch it for what it is and enjoy.

Shaun of the Dead is the best zombie movie, ever. IMHO.

Pandorum was pretty good. I've been a fan of Dennis Quaid since Dreamscape.

As far as a sci fi goes, though, Moon was far better, though different in every possible way. Still, if you haven't seen it, it's an excellent movie.

I didn't really care for Moon. It was OK, but not very exciting. I don't particularly like zombie movies and probably wouldn't have watched Pandorum if I had known that it was essentially a zombie movie.

it's been awhile since I've seen pandorum but iirc the zombies were not done as CGI right? I remember thinking how much more menacing the last man on earth will Smith remake would have been if they had opted to use real extras instead of bad CGI for the creatures.

They seemed to be a mix of CGI and real people. It looks like the closeups were real and the distant/dark shots were CGI.
