Tron? Really?Apr 06, 2011 | 2:26 pm
I watched Tron Legacy last night. Disney knows how to make a visually-stunning film, but there's just nothing there to warrant a sequel. A remake probably would have been more appropriate and I don't like remakes. What else can a I say?

Thinking about it, A matrix add-on for EarthAD might be cool. I'm currently working on the Submariners add-on for EarthAD 2. Picture an alternate world in the computer, a digital world as a last hope for mankind before the apocalypse struck. Interesting.

A world where humankind could upload their consciousness to a Mainframe, to experience a better world.

And a sad reality, where an AI was going mad (again!) and forced uploaded human Brains into a Mainframe to use them for waging war against humans in huge battle machines.

;) I like that. Don't know why, but lately I rediscovered my Heavy Gear books and found lots of interesting story threads in them - especially for PA worlds, where machines would have to be simplistic and crude to be still working. ;)

Yeah, it's a good idea, but was executed poorly.

I enjoyed Tron: Legacy.

It was a simple Heroes journey story with all of the tropes intact. It certainly didn't carry it's predecessors 'legacy' of innovation, but I thought it was a solid movie.

I don't know if it did this on purpose, but the plot seemed to go in the order of a Tarot deck's Major Arcana.

I didn't hate the movie and it did move at a reasonable pace. The problem is that it did NOT live up to the original. There was nothing really new or original and while the effects were good, they also weren't very revolutionary. :(
