Yet more Disposable TilescapesJul 16, 2013 | 4:02 am
Here's another preview of Disposable Tilescapes... This is the main design tool. The primary dungeon tiles are still a little rough and just B&W at the moment. Fills are on the left side -- these are essentially the 1" tiles and include solid colors, the basic retro tiles, and upload your own tiles. Yes, you will be able to purchase Build Your Own sets just like with Disposable Heroes. A few tools aid in the look of the tiles: rotation, get fill color, and erase.

On the right, we have the Props stuff. These are just like the Disposable Heroes: Fantasy Props. You can place these over tiles, and scale them. The middle is obviously the map. You can also name the map, give it a description, toggle rule lines on and off (and set their color), and either save or download the map. It's all pretty straight-forward, yet very flexible.

Price-wise, individual tile sets will be about the same as Disposable Heroes sets. All it takes is one tile set to get access to this customizable system, adding on new tile sets and prop sets as desired. Unlike regular applications, you don't need to plop down a large sum of cash just to make a quick dungeon tile map.

So without further ado, here is the sample screenshot and what it looks like when downloaded to a PDF file...

... so this will be, essentially, a web-based tile-map editor with purchaseable tiles? Hmm. I could go for that. :)

Any chance of an integrated notes area where we can enter game data (trap difficulties, monster attributes, etc.)?

I can do that. :)

And it has been done. Not sure about printing though - I might make it print on a second page. What do you think? Probably have optional printing.

Printing to an additional GM Notes page is great. It keeps those details out of players' eyes and handy to the GM when needed. I'm not usually a tile-mapper, but I'm going to have to buy a set just to play around with this.
