For those of you who don't quite understand what Brutes is, here's the rundown...
Brutes is a fantasy miniatures microgame that takes place in the Perilous Age. It includes 6 ready-to-use characters as paper miniatures, with the stats on the back. You pick the teams and battle it out for victory. The system is based on that of New World Disorder, utilizing a D6, but more simplified. Characters possess three abilities, gimmicks for special rules, weapons, and armor (weapons and armor can also have special traits, which are essentially gimmicks for these items). Actions are broken down into moving, fighting, and shooting. Any number of actions can be attempted, depending on ability ratings. Brutes and its add-ons are available in print and PDF.
More Brutes describes the exotic species of the Perilous Age, with some rules options, new gimmicks, and new weapon/armor traits. It includes 12 more paper miniature characters.
Brute Magic introduces 4 types of magic: slinging, convoking, painting, and trilling. A new action is provided: hexing. 8 new paper miniature characters and two copies each of 7 summoned creatures are included.
That's pretty much it. I think it will close the Brute line of products. You are all welcome to create your own optional rules, gimmicks, traits, spells, and characters. Just add them to the Message Boards or Collaborative (I'll add a category for Brutes once we get a few, but post them in the Other Content category for now). |
