EarthAD 2 went Poof!Sep 06, 2013 | 4:25 pm
So Adobe Indesign screwed me over. I was exporting the final version of EarthAD 2 Expanded to PDF when its background export process froze up. The only way to fix it is to force quit and reload Indesign. I noticed that entire pages were blank. I called Adobe and they were no help as expected. It looks like the content is still there, just not accessible. So, I am now trying to use Applescript Editor to access the parts of the document that are missing and move them to the proper location - I think this will work, because one page item had some really weird coordinates and scaling. I have to make dinner now, but when I get back I'm on it. It's about 20 pages. I will keep you updated.

Good luck, Brett. That being said...I have no clue what you just said  But good luck, none the less.

Keeping my fingers crossed...

I was able to salvage it all. I had to redo a few pages of charts, but the pages that were lost (1 template and most of the scenarios) were still in the file, just not visible. I used Applescript to select those text frames, copy the text, and paste them into a new file. I had the PDF already done - I was just fixing two typos and exporting to PDF when it crashed. So I now have to give a final proofread yet again, so the PDF should be available some time saturday - I'll sort out free upgrade coupons (or whatever) at that time. Thanks.

It's now available. You should see it as a free upgrade if you purchased all three previous EarthAD 2 PDFs. If you qualify, but don't see the upgrade pricing, let me know (use the contact form).

Great save Brett, just DLed the pdf and it looks awesome. Love the sheer amount of content included, especially the adventures. Once again a great GD product. Keep up the great work brother! GD is hands down the best and most versatile rules-light system I've ever seen, gonna run a game or two of Earth AD2 when I get the chance (after our upcoming Shadowrun 5 game) to celebrate :D
