I worked ALL DAY today trying to get the interior file for the One Page Dungeon Contest 2013 book at a reasonable size and quality. Here's a question. How can a 600dpi version be smaller than a 500dpi version at the same compression level? Acrobat makes no sense. Between transparency flattening, keeping compression from distorting blacks, maintaining a decent resolution, and creating a small enough file, my blood pressure must be through the roof. I'm uploading the new file to the printshop now. I'm hoping that the second proof comes out just like the 2012 book did. My first proof left the blacks with blurry halos. I remember that it also took me a few tries to get the 2012 book done properly, but it was also an issue of the printshop not processing the file correctly on their end. Cross your fingers. |
