| I ordered a new computer today. 6GB of RAM just isn't enough anymore, particularly when Photoshop and Indesign are such memory hogs. My old workhorse 21.5" iMac can't go any higher and it's been driving me nuts. So, a new 27" iMac with 3TB fusion drive is on the menu. I would have gone for the 21.5", but RAM is limited to 16GB in them. I ordered some extra memory (for total of 24GB) and DVD drive separately. I don't like the fact that they don't ship with DVD drives anymore, but I got a cheap external for $30. The extra speed, RAM, and storage will be a nice change for me. I'll probably use the old iMac for running Windows. It's going to be a pain reinstalling all this software and transferring my documents though. |
