Brett's Blog 2001 May 19, 2014 | 2:26 pm I watched 2001: A Space Odyssey again, as I haven't seen it in a while. What a poorly-directed movie. Excellent cinematography and sets, but Stanley Kubrick stretched scenes out far too long, much like was done with Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Plus, he changed facts from the book, like names. Next up is 2010: The Year We Make Contact. I really liked this movie. I couldn't agree more about that first Star Trek movie. Seeing it in the theater as a kid really shut down my budding interest in Star Trek.
