Finally watched 2010, the sequel to 2001. A better movie than the first. Apparently, Kubrick had all the sets from 2001 destroyed, so they couldn't be reused, so the Discovery had to be rebuilt for 2010. You can tell, as some of the monitors don't quite line up correctly. Otherwise, a nice job. Good direction and a totally different feel. First line of the movie ("My God, it's full of stars") was supposed to be in the first, but it was not -- it was in the book though. I think this one follows the book more closely. It still holds up pretty well.
Now if only they would make 2061... |
