Blade & CrownAug 13, 2014 | 12:30 pm
I came across Blade & Crown, a fantasy RPG not too long ago. This little gem by Rachel Kronick is pretty good. It's d10-based: use the highest result (increase the result by 1 for each duplicate result). Traits (like Story Engine descriptors) let you roll more dice. There's also a variation die to determine how well you succeeded. The book is very thorough. There is no specific setting, but this is the type of game that works best with your own setting anyway. A lot of hard work went into this game.

And Rachel says that she is excited to announce that she'll hopefully soon be publishing the first official adventure for Blade & Crown, The Bandit Map. She'll announce it on her blog when it's ready.

I encourage anyone looking for a different take on fantasy systems to check this out.

Correction: The variation die determines how you succeed, not how well.

Looks interesting. Going to carry it here?

No. Just want to help spread the word for a good indie game.
