I'm working on Bloodshadows 3E today. I'd like to get it completed in the next few weeks. Most of it is done - creatures, spells, rules, etc. Now I'm focusing on finalizing the two adventures in the back of the book. This sucker will be clocking in around 225-240 pages. I'll just point out a few interesting features (well, maybe more than a few):

1. You can play a number of non-Human species with special powers, but Humans have a slight edge with magic and social interaction.

2. There are four alignments, which may or may not be relevant during play: Order, Chaos, Oathbreakers of Order, and Oathbreakers of Chaos. You can also remain neutral. These may affect spell use and social interaction.

3. In addition to fatigue and injury, tension and mania are also tracked. Tension is for mental stress and irritability, while mania is for fear and mental illness.

4. Rules for Hypnotism, Intoxication, using Contacts, and finding Clues.

5. Cantrips: simple spells that don't require all the effort and avoid feedback. You don't want feedback.

6. Experience directly influences play: roll an extra die, break ties, increase resistance, lessen spell feedback, and call in favors from other members of your alignment.

7. Exploits: increase the effectiveness of a task, depending on how well you do, from doing the job faster, making the task go farther, or using it even more to your advantage.

8. Protective values over 5. For existing genreDiversion players, protection was capped at 5, but now values greater than that (via magic) first reduce damage and then roll against 5.

9. Social Conflict: charm/seduction, empathic awareness, intimidation, bargaining, and tricking.

10. Chases: whether on foot, by horse, or by car.

11. Optional bleeding rules.

12. Potions you can purchase or brew yourself (with the proper training).

13. Use ready-made spells OR design new ones (using a simplified version of the original MasterBook effects system).

14. Character development is based on research, training, and investment. Research leads to new spells and lores. Training leads to better pursuit ratings and ability gimmicks. Investment leads to new resources, like houses, contacts, and antiquities.

15. Extensive advice on using and designing NPCs, as well as directing adventures.

16. Convert existing characters from genreDiversion i games, like Ghostories and Mean Streets; Classic Bloodshadows (MasterBook); Pacesetter System games, like Cryptworld, Majus, and Rotworld; and diceless play with Active Exploits Diceless Roleplaying.

17. Bestiary of Unnaturals, including demons, undead, shifters, and beasts in the Wilderness.

18. The default locale is the city of Selastos.

19. Two adventures based in Selastos.

20. Fantasy, Magic, Pulp, Noir: Need I say more?
