Bloodshadows 3E Cards (or no)Jun 20, 2016 | 10:49 am
Anyone familiar with the original Bloodshadows game (a worldbook for MasterBook) should know that it features a card deck to enhance play. This increases drama and cinematic action, and gives players a little more control over the adventure. The third edition version of Bloodshadows will not use a card deck, but I am considering adding one on at a later time. I am not convinced that it will necessarily enhance the game, since there are already many options in this upcoming release to do that. I am open to your opinions on the matter though, so if you have a thought on this, please do let me know.

I always loved the Drama Deck in MasterBook, and I always use the optional Adventure Deck when I GM Savage Worlds.

The MB DD was terrific at controlling the ebb and flow of combat, encouraging PCs to do something besides stand still and slug it out round after round, and added spice to mundane, repetitive bookkeeping tasks (initiative, complex skill challenges).

I'd be all for something similar for GD3e.

Thanks for that feedback.

I think as an option it's cool. I like the sensitivity to how many options you're throwing at people. The option of having cards, as extra chrome, is nice.
