I'm just waiting for a few final pieces of art and need to do a final proofread and verify a few bits and then pre-orders will begin on the Bloodshadows Third Edition Softcover and Hardcover, with the PDF immediately available at that point.

The PDF will feature the usual bookmarks that make every section easy to find, but also a background layer that can be switched off if you plan on printing it yourself. Adobe Reader can do this, but I'm not sure about other PDF readers.

The game also includes 8 sample characters, a spell design worksheet, and three reference sheets. The sample characters are: Hugor Sentinel, Humbus Streetsinger, Human Private Detective, Werewolf Thug, Ghoul Merchant, Taxim Average Joe (Cab Driver), Vampire Spellslinger, and Orris Average Joe (Barkeep).

Some people were asking me about how the new armor/padding ratings above 5 work, since abatement rolls must roll over that value to penetrate. Well, any protective value over 5 means that you first subtract the amount over 5 from the damage. Then you make the abatement rolls. So if someone has an armor rating of 7 (which can only happen via magic) and is attacked for 8 marks of injury, you first subtract 2 from the damage (7-5=2, 8-2=6). This means that you then roll 6 dice - anything that comes up 6 is applied to the character's injury level.

There's also an optional rule for random damage. Roll a die for every six marks of damage. If it is less than the damage value, use that value - otherwise use the original value.

There's also an option to push (convert fatigue to injury) or pull (convert injury to fatigue) damage with experience. Each point spent pushes or pulls one mark of damage.

I'll happy to answer any other questions you have... |
