Someone recently asked me about equipment in Foreign Element, or rather the lack of an equipment list. Weapons and devices are not strictly defined, as they provide bonus dice. They come from your team's equipment pool - once used, the dice are removed from the pool.
Need a laser cutter to get through a door? Wow, you just happen to have one in your pack - allocate some dice from your equipment pool to help open that door.
And you can scavenge after scenes to build back your equipment pool, even defining what exactly was found. You can also spend credits on mail order equipment to boost your pool.
